Driving Quality Improvement in Care Homes

In 2021/22, I recruited and lead a team to support care homes that had received poor CQC ratings, working closely with managers and staff to raise standards and achieve sustainable improvements.

Our approach was practical and solutions-focused. We worked directly with care home teams to address the issues identified by the CQC, creating tailored action plans that dealt with the root causes of concern.

The support provided went beyond compliance. We focused on embedding best practice, strengthening leadership, and building staff confidence so that improvements were meaningful and long-lasting. As a result, the homes supported achieved improved CQC rating, delivered better care for residents and staff regained pride in the care they provide.

Through clear guidance, hands-on support, and a strong commitment to quality, we helped care homes gain the tools, skills, and confidence they needed to deliver high standards of care.
